Social Venture Training
Nonprofits have a unique set of challenges. While the recession has caused a decrease in donations, an increase in services has also occurred. Many are pursuing social ventures as a strategy to sustainability.
Audrey Wyatt is consulting with Faith and Philanthropy Institute in the creation of Mission Add+Ventures.
Mission Add+Ventures (MAV) is a NEW 9-month intensive program that gives faith-and community-based organizations the tools to develop fee-based programs and/or for-profit ventures consistent with their organizations' mission.
In the program, leaders will:
- Learn new business tools and approaches to accomplish the mission
- Create social, spiritual and economic value
- Calculate the risk of for profit strategies
- Generate income from commercial activities to fund programs and/or cover operating costs
- Become mission-led and market driven
- Enjoy financial freedom from unrestricted income
- Embed ventures strategically into current operations
By the end of this course, leaders will:
- Understand the connection between money and business model,
- Articulate their unique selling position,
- Create a feasibility study for their venture idea and
- Develop a comprehensive business plan to connect to new funding opportunities.
Most importantly, they will be thoroughly equipped for exponential growth.
The training will begin the first quarter of 2012. Call the FPI Office at 817-835-0271 to learn more and to apply.
